Need help with cruise control

I have a 1995 riviera and when I Press the set button to activate my cruise control, the cruise light will light up for one second and then disengage. It will only do this once for every time I start the vehicle. Any ideas would greatly be appreciated.

Check your fuses, could be a cruise control module going bad or a multi function switch. I'd lean more toward the module though.
