Need help with delco Monsoon CD player from 99 Camaro.

Here is the problem with this unit.

"This is taken out from my 1999 Camaro. It is a Monsoon Delco CD player. It was working fine, but last month, all of a sudden, IT DOES NOT PLAY CD. Just displays "Err" and ejects the disc out. AM/FM works fine and all the buttons workm with this unit."

it's really dirty OR the optic eye is shot.
More than likely the eye is bad.

SO how do I do go about fixing it?

BTW Thanks for the heads up on fixing the the t-top new rubber moldings. I did exactly as you said. I went to a paint supply shop picked up all the supplies and work from there. Seems pretty good so far.

Here's the step by step insructions on repiring the cd player:

1) remove from dash
2) walk over to nearest trash receptical
3) throw it in
4) call your favorite junk yard and get another one
5) put it in the dash.


Seriously, usually, the optic eyes are a couple of hundred bucks to replace. You could always take it to a repair shop and get an estimate before replacing...

It is repairable but i was quoted $175. Just trying my luck here to see if anyone had this problem and fixed it.

commonly asked questions. If you don't see anything there
do a search for Monsoon or ERR in the forum. Hope this helps.
