I had my trans rebuild a few yrs ago but now I am thiniing he did not put mine back in its a 87 GN but its only 13 numbers on it so it did not come out a 87, the numbers are these 287-872-BRF-1441, I know this is going to make me sick , the stator went bad and never thought to check when he put it back in , it shifted ok but checked the cable today and it was pulled out a lot so it shifted hard. Hope someone can help me with this maybe a good shift kit might help thanks George

More info

My Torque convertor has 5 stamped all the way around it , not D-5 is the right one for my car?

It has the BRF code so it should be the right one. Does the trans have a yellow tag on it? If so it is an 87'. As far as the converter I think it is the correct one. Look closer to make sure the "D" isn't stamped real light. What stall do you get when you foot brake it? Should be in the 2000-2100 rpm range.
