Hey guys, my buddy is finishing his winter project of putting on V3 intake, TA-60 and Lee Thompson Dp, Up and headers. He asked me to post to see if there is a good sequence on installing the Downpipe? He's already put on both headers and the crossover but hopes he doen't have to remove the p.s. header for the Dp install. Any advice would be appreciated.

to put my 2.5" atr dp in i had to remove the header..

id assume the 3" would be more difficult.. but then again its a 2 piece dp right?

I'm sure Lee will respond, but in case he doesn't...I believe he designed that downpipe to be removed/installed without pulling the ps header. That's why it's two piece. Just need a long 3/8" swivel and a 9/16" swivel socket to tighten up the flange. On my old 85' I never had to remove the header to install or remove the d/p....

Yea, but you only need to remove/attach the upper flange to install/remove it....In my experience, may vary from car to car.

From the original post, I assume you have not started the install yet. Start at the turbo and go toward the exhaust. You will probably run into some clearance issue. Just make the necessary adjustments ( trim some of the heater box shield away, trim some of the flange where the firewall and body join. You must have one of the earlier ones. Best of luck. Do you know my good friend,, John Bruce?

Hey thanks for the tips, guys. We're hoping his car is really going to "wake up." Hey Lee, yes I know John. He's got the fastest Hotair around here till May. He actually introduced my buddy and me to you last year at the Nat's. That's a nice looking Blue T you've got.
