My son has a 91 Dodge Stealth with a bad 5 speed trans. My question is what is the procedure to take the trans out? How do the axles come out? Is there any suprises that I should be aware of? He is turning 16 soon, need to get this thing on the road. TIA

Your a good dad lol. Im turning 16 in two weeks and my dad has done nothing with my Buick. Ive had it almost a year now.

Sorry mad rant

Is it all wheel drive? If it is its fun .If its just front wheel drive its easy to do. Hopefully the axle nuts are not rusted to ends of shafts. If they are just pull the knuckles with the shafts attached.Go to auto zones site and down load alldata for that car and it will give you all the info you need.good luck

Hey ZNix Thanks for the compliment. I know as a Dad sometimes it is tuff to work, do stuff at home, and work on cars, and all the other stuff that needs done. Sometimes I want to rest, I am not 16 anymore, One day you will uderstand. Good luck on the build, do what YOU can do, try to learn alot (and you are at the right place for that) and you will get it done Good luck.

Chopped thanks for the info. It is just a front wheel drive car. Do the axles just pull out?
