i put together a mustang with twin 87 gn turbos. it has aftermarket wastegate actuators. with the actuator rods backed all the way out i still gets 15lbs. its cool for the track running 110 octane( 11.4 @122.6 stock longblock), but i want to tone it down to like 8 lbs so i can safely run pump gas. stock actuators are 12-13 lbs i think right? can i get stock actuators and make them longer to get less boost? can ibuy something that will give me less? if i could make or get something adjustable from like 8-15 lbs that would be cool. thanks buick rules

Just an idea but why not buy an alky kit so you can run the high boost on 93 gas? My race chip limited me to 9 psi and I still got a little knock. I put the alky kit on and went to 18 with no knock. I would have turned it up higher but the engine started making a noise soon after I got the kit on. It had nothing to do with the kit though so don't worry about that. Alot cheaper to refill that alky reservoir than to keep pumping 110 in it.

i like that idea , ill have to look into it. i knew i could count on you turbo buick guys..anybody have any links, suggestions?

Go to the Yard and get the actuators from a Turbocoupe or a Merkur. they are 9-10psi.

There's a seperate alky section on this board. Browse around in there, you should be able to find out everything you want.

You might need to get the wastegate hole enlargened also. You can not go larger than the puck size though. That will ensure max flow out of the wastegate hole!

gn actuators

Stock GN actuators are 9 psi. The solenoid bleeds off to make more boost.
