What do we have in the way of info and pics for building a laptop stand for the buick?
I'm not into spending a fortune for one so I'm gonna try building one myself.
Has anyone got info on this? Thanks allot.

Here ya go, good luck. :)

Double click on the pics. you want larger, maybe even twice for highest resolution.

Tube and swivel top cast piece were given to me by a board member about 3 years ago.

Can't find out who made the swivel/tilt locking tube mount or I would have ordered more for sure.

Base is billet alum block machined and uses the seat stud and nut.

A little vibration at speed since it's a single point mount but I only look at it while idling. ;)

Plenty stable for me and my old IBM Thinkpad 770.

holy gauges batman. I think that is by far those most gadgets I have ever seen cramed into a Turbo regal cockpit. People most look in there and think you are flying a SR-71 blackbird. How can you monitor the 20 plus gadgets?

Easy, I don't look at them. ;)

That's my daily driver, my GN was done a bit more tastefully. :D

Took 18 years to cram everything in there, plenty of room still for more velcro and stuff.... :)

Nice..

..Have got to say, I'm a wee bit jealous there...btw, are you running Direct Scan or Turbolink?

It's direct scan, both cars have it.

I only use it when racing, dynoing, and going to Buick events that let ugly cars into.

The GN goes to cruise nights and clean car events, the laptop holder easily goes into that car as well.

The base stays mounted down at the seat bolt billet aluminum holder, you just drop the laptop into the car with the tube into the base holder and put the pin in. Hook up the power and direct scan cable and you are good to go.

Rarely is the laptop in either car, tube detaches easily with a pin in the bottom mount. Easily detaches from the top of the laptop mount as well so I just leave the laptop on the top part.

Made the holder a bit larger than needed because I though I was gonna get a 15" TFT nice Dell laptop but got the IBM instead.

Didn't feel like cutting down the base.

Clamps are from McMaster Carr cool little things that lock tightly.

Strap is nylon packing strap, no sliding or moving.

Would work with any laptop most likely.
