Need some help here with transmission linkage

So, I’m still playing games with this shifter...mainly because I am lazy. I decided to work on it today and I moved the long rod with the spring out of the way in order to help hook the cable up. I heard a loud pop, then a washer (pictured also) flew off. I’m not sure if that’s all that secures this rod or not. Take a look at the picture....it’s the rod with the spring on the end. I hope I’m not missing pieces Please see pictures.

The pop you heard was probably the spring going through the bracket. The washer was on the other side of the bracket keeping the spring on the other side of the bracket.
