I have a friend who will sell me a 3500 stall (he thinks) vigalante.... and it is located at a very reputable buick vendor. My question is.... do they make a non lock-up vigalante, like he thinks it is? In the 9.5'' style or is he mistaken, because he usually deals with art carr's in his personal cars. BTW it would be a SMOKING deal for a l/u convertor. Thanks!

Yes, Vigilante makes a non-lockup. I think they're about 100-150 bucks cheaper than the lockup.
