Anyone on the board rebuild the AC compressor for the Buick?

Thanks

Buy the new one. Its 134 compatible. Rock Auto has it for $166.

If you want to attempt it yourself I watched a video on YouTube on how to disassemble and rebuild.

Over the years, Delco has made about 1/2 dozen refinements to POS original compressor, and other aftermarket units are far superior to the original.

I put the 4Seasons compressor on mine on the recommendation of my local car A/C shop. Low defect rate (near zero), and it's quiet. When it cycles on, it barely hits the motor. Until I tweaked the idle control, the engine would actually flare when the compressor kicked on, because the idle-up was too aggressive for these new compressors.

With a new condenser and a 134a charge, I have 38 degrees at the dash outlet in 90 degree weather.

So yeah, don't bother rebuilding the original. It's not worth your time.
