Need to settle an argument.

An argument Between me and my dad, I have an 84 Buick Grand National, and the hood emblems say, 3.8LitreTurbo, Ive never seen a GN like that, Arent the original emblems the 3.8 SFI TURBO?

I also have an 84 Grand National and an 86. The original hood emblem for both cars is identical and states "3.8SFIturbo" on both sides of the bulge on the hood.

Just trying to help, sounds like to me its an early Pre 84 hood bulge emblem. Off an 1982 GN. Just sticking my 2 cents in. Thanks!

The earlier hood emblems were really small compared to the later ones and the earlier emblems did not say SFI.

My 83 T-Type had the 3.8 litre turbo badges. It's been a while but I think either "litre" or "turbo" was in red.

I knew IT! I heard the hood was replaced due to someone dropping a 2x4 off his house onto the hood smashing it beyond repair!!!!

The '84 Turbo Regal was the first american car with sequential fuel injection and distributorless ignition, and Buick made sure everyone knew it from the emblems! I bought the first '84 TR in Utah, and there's two places that say 3.8 Litre Turbo - an emblem on the dash bezel, and the hood ORNAMENT.

The deck lid emblem on non GN turbo Regals says "3.8 SFI Turbo" also. The only difference between the hood emblems and the deck emblem is the hood emblem edges are colored flat black. The deck emblem is completely chrome.
