Do I need, or would you recommend, using a bronze gear for the cam sensor?

I read or heard that this is recommended when using a roller cam, any thoughts? I can get one from Fullthrottle.com if needed.

If your cam is a ductile roller. No.

If its a steel billet roller.. then yes. So it depends on the material the drive gear on the cam was made of.

My only experience is with billet roller cams from crane(214/210 ATR grind)and they dont come with drive gears but are set up like the older Buick motors where the cam has a keyway and the drive gear, fuel pump eccentric, and timing gear stack up on the front and with that use a standard cam sensor gear.

Here's an example of standard cast cam vs a billet cam

Thanks guys, I got the "old style" Comp Cam roller so I'm good with the stock cam sensor gear!
