Looking for a 66-70mm turbo with a larger hot side. CPT70 S-trim, 6765 .85, etc.

Just sold my CPT-66bb .63 hot side, Car had been lower 10's with that turbo on less than optimal gearing etc... Just wanting something with a little more head room and lower backpressure. I'd even consider another CPT-66 with the S-trim .85 hot side.

at that level it's doubtful you will gain anything over your 6665 unless you plan on running enough boost to push the car into the 140mph range. Turboburick was looking to trade his 7068 for a smaller faster spooling turbo. That would have been a good trade.

Just posted my 6780 q-trim for sale. Take a look over in the parts for sale section. I stepped down to a 6265 bb unit. All I was looking for was a quick spooling high 10 street car.

That may be true, BUT how many people have gone faster than low 10's with a CPT-66 (6665?) I know some people have switched away from it that were running low 10's and immediately ran into the 9's with no other changes than the turbo. I can't think of anybody running 9's with a small exhaust housing turbonetics 66. Seems to me that the 6665 is mostly tapped out around 10.1-10.3.

I'm going off memory, but the guy that went 9.6 or 9.7 on pump gas alcohol said he was running 10.3's with the same combo and the CPT-66. I believe it was an aluminum headed motor, so it's pretty obvious that the turbo was the limiting factor there.

The other thing is that I couldn't turn the boost up any higher with that turbo. At 28.5#'s I could not turn it up any higher with a Hallman MBC and an HD actuator. (I assume the backpressure in the exhaust was pushing the puck open

Moot point now because the turbo is sold.
