Need your advise??????

What's up guys well ive got a very important q's my car has 136,000 mile on it and im very happy with my car my best et. was 13.9@96 mph, 60ft@1.98 i mean is there something wrong.it's all stock except for the mod's below havent changed the valve springs or timming chain. see my plans r to park it and rebuild it at 150,k but im not quite sure what to do as to go all out and girdle it steel caps and all that neat stuff or to wait and put more mod's in it really need you guys advise.

I'd buy a TA or stage block and put yours in a museum.

Of course, I've been saying that a lot lately...

what do you mean by a ta block trans am and how hard is it to get so it would be more expensive to try to go all out out with my 109 block as to go with th ta or stage block???

Your fair city is about to be attacked by a bunch of Buick nuts. If you show up at the track on Friday or Saturday, Nov. 8th or 9th, you'll get more help than you can use.

I'd say that something is out of tune if you're not running stock boost levels and getting that time with your mods. Do you have a scan tool?

Why would you want to rebuild? Is oil pressure low, knocking? I say mod it and keep on going. Unless the car has REALLY been beat on, you really don't have that many miles.

i dont have a scan tool or an oil pressure gauge but planning on getting one need them bad should i replace my valve spring's and timming chain????heard it from a couple of guys that their due around 80,000 or sooner. and the car runs great not beat up at all.

I need to practice what they preach, too. I haven't done my timing chain or valve springs. So far got 166k miles and runs great too. I'm not going to rebuild until it blows up.

Not knowing the history on your car, I would not push it hard at this point. Have seen stock timing chain/gear destroyed at 60k miles, and others with max wear at 100k miles. If it self-destructs at WOT, you will see more internal damage that you want.

Certainly low oil flow due to seal and timing gear debris in the pick up screen can wipe out a crank real quick.

If this car has been in the desert most of its life, the gear is probably ready to fall apart. Heat and age are a bad combination for the stock gear.

If your running stock boost levels then the car is running fine. Change the timing chain and gears, change the valve springs, get a scanmaster and then you can start playing.

thanx guys youve been a real help so just to be sure im going ahead and change my timing chain and valve spring's wich would suit my combo best and how much $$$ is it and were thanx again.
