Hey,

I am looking to replace my rear tires with some better stickier kind that can be legally street driven....I have narrowed them down to 2 kinds....(BF Goodrich Drag Radials vs. E.T. Streets....)
Which one is better and how to they hook? Any and all suggestions/opinions welcome...

Thanks,

Todd

ET Streets will hook better but are right at the edge of DOT legal. From what i have heard they can be a little scary on the street.

I have not used slicks/ET streets yet, but see my sig on the T for the 235 BFG's. This was my second time racing the car. I could not believe the hook. I just figured it would fry them with a 5 lb launch. Also I did a very mild dry spin off burnout only, just a little smoke, 24 lb tire pressure, stock suspension with airbags. A healthy burnout really takes a lot off these tires, so the ET's would be better in that regard, the drag radials don't need much. Also I have driven them in rain and not had trouble, I would imagine the ETs would be a deathwish even without boost. The BFGs really hook good on the street too. Hope that helps in your decision, someone with the ETs can comment or compare.

Street ET's are basically terrible on the street (soft sidewall, bias ply) not really designed for street use (just for lazy drag racers that don't like to change tires) I have run 'em and they wear very quickly (like 3000 miles) they hook better than DR's both places, just make sure you are going in a straight line!

use the DR's on the street and "real" slicks at the track

I have tried many types of tires for racing. As for now I would use the nitto's over the BFG's any day. They last longer and hook harder. As for the track The Et street's arn't that bad in my opinion on the street. They work well , but for the best out their go with the Hoosier Q/T pro. Size 27x11.5 15's fit great and hook like hell. Best tire Ive ever used.

bfg drag radials for a daily driver. et streets for the weekend
warrior. either way goodluck
275 50 15 bfg dr fits on a stock rim

With my experience Nitto Drag Radials hook AWESOME. I have the 275/50 on my car and it is totally stock except for a chip and K&N, and with a 6-7 pound launch I cut a 1.6 60ft. They grabbed awesome and stayed that way. Personally I would use the Nittos for a Drag Radial.

Thanks guys for the responses, I am leaning toward the Drag Radials as my GN will be street driven more than track driven so I'll update on the performance gains if any are realized once I get the new tires...

Are you using the 275/50 Nitto with the stock rim?
