It will start and run for about 5 seconds but dies afterward. It will also start right back up and do the same thing over again. It died on him on the way home and he got towed in. I plan to check for trouble codes in the morning and after that look for wiring problems at coolant sensor, oil pressure switch and fuel pump relay. Outside of that, all I can really do with the tools I have is set IAC and TPS and pray it works.

If anyone has any insight it would be appreciated.

I would suspect the fuel pump. Sounds like it primes, but doesn't run normal.

check the fuel filter. Its simple but I've seen it cause problems on the s-10's before. Messes up the tranny shifts on some of them too.

Must be a wiring problem at the tank. After checking everything I could think of, I couldn't hear the fuel pump prime. So I got underneath and slapped the bottom of the tank about 5 times. Then when I turned the key on, it primed. After that, it ran good. He's trading it in within the next few days so it's down the road regardless. Thanks for the replies.
