New 86 GN

Just bought a 86 GN. It has a scan master in it however i think there is something missing. The guy I bought it from didn't know what it was. The car detonates under heavy throttle and runs super rich. I think it may have been a boost/timing controller. Also the power antenna/locks/dome light are inop. The radio sounds like garbage and resets each time the car is turned on. Could the missing item cause open circuits?

Stop! -Back away from the drivers seat! -Haven't you heard the old saying? "Many a buick has perished due to a lack of knowledge!" -Okay, I just made that up, but it should give you an idea of caution. Pushing a TR w/a major problem can cause some severe damage and become extremely expensive to repair.
Your symptoms can be diagnost systematically w/the help of our board members and sites like www.vortexbuicks-etc.com Reading is the most essential ingredient to a TR's health.
Your problem may be nothing more than unmetered air getting around the maf, bad maf, corrupt chip, wrong chip, etc. We would need more info on your vehicle to help. Check some of the signatures to see what kind of info(mod's) that may be needed to make an intellagent guess.

Oil looks good. So does the oil in the valve covers.

There is a chip in the console. I will have to check it out and see what kind it os.
