New California traffic fines 7-1-07!

This was sent to me so maybe it can be verified by someone in Cali, hopefully not by personal experience.

Carpool lane - 1st. time $1068.50, don't do it again because fine doubles for second offense - triples for third and license is suspended for 4th time.

Incorrect lane change - $380 don't cross the lane on solid lines or in intersections.

Driving on shoulder - $450.

Cell phone must be "hands free" when driving, ticket is $285. Double fine in construction zone.

Passengers over 18 not in seat belt - both pass and driver get tickets.

Speeders can only drive 3 miles over the limit.

DUI = JAIL, stays on record for 10 years.
