New car already decided to break

Here's the deal guys head lifted on the car and I have a a extre set of heads and the guy at the machine shop suggested a cam ,springs and lil bit of work on the exaust side of the heads what do y'all guys think the total package for the cam ,springs and machine work 450 ish would it be worth it of course I'm doing the labor the cam is a comp flat tappet because I'm cheap and roller is to much for my pocket book lol or would I just be better off putting it back stock its a 69 thousand mile car soon to be 70

Well got the car apart today and it has a wiped cam lobe push rods almost rubbed Thru and a coupe of valve tips don't look the best but found something weird there's a tapped hole in the back of the valley with a plug in it my other car didn't have this would that be a later model block ?

The hole was more than likely drilled to use the 86-87 oil return line. Post a pic.

Also the black blob it the lower left of the pic is standing oil just looks weird in pic
