New coil pack 86-87 upgrade misfire

Hey guys helping my buddy out with upgrading the coil module upgrade to 86/87 style we have everything hooked up adapters and all the wiring that came with it upon start up it was misfiring backfiring bad what is causing this? Any tips advice or suggestions as what to check is greatly appreciated

I have seen three possible issues than can cause it. These are-spark plug wires routed wrong, coil module to coil pak wires routed wrong and a defective module to coil pak adaptor(wired wrong from Caspers) Brad

Thanks for the tips is there a diagram showing the proper wiring ? On how it should be wired?
