New Delco CD w/ aftermarket speakers?

Is anyone running this setup currently? (97+ delco cd player w/ aftermarket 6x9's and 3 1/2's.

How do your speakers sound with a factory-like cd player? Is anyone running this w/ an amp to power the speakers?

I have an '01 Monsoon Cassette HU along with the factory 12 disc changer from an F body with Alpine 3.5's and 6x9's and I like it. It'll thump the speakers pretty good too without an external amp. The stock Monsoon has 54W per channnel so it works well enough for me. If you do a search for "Monsoon" and look for posts by "FlyinGN" you'll find more info.
