Thanks for the interest
It has been a journey one of lessons and some dissapointments.
We did put her on the dyno and with no tune and an improvised wastegate spring rated for 1psi. We made some small load pulls. We actually ran into several issues and made the pulls anyway.
The first being with the intake manifold, I bought as a set used with the Champion cylinder heads. Anyway it was leaking water into the valley as a result. So I took my stock manifold and installed it, we then found the cylinder heads themselves were cracked around the stud bosses at the rear and front of both heads. This was very dissapointing because I pressure tested the heads prior to machining with no issues. So I had to take them down get them welded put them in the mill and spot face the bosses. Blah, blah, blah. Mind you I have a job too, so things have been going slow to say the least.
Anyway the engine with the tune I had on the engine in my sig which was basically a seat of the pants tune. It made peak torque of 309 ft lbs at 3600 rpm and held it to 6000rpm and again that was at 1 - 1.5 psi.
When I get a moment I will run a leak on her, with the sump it should have been pulling vac and while running I experienced an oil leak from the valve covers. So I need to make sure we didnt lose lubricity of the cylinders and hurt ourselves with all the water.
So anyway, since I am doing most of the work and it is quite a distance from the house. The inch at the goal line is taking the longest and is the hardest.
The intake manifold is being match ported to the cylinder heads and then sent off with a larger plenum to Calico for coating.
More to come!!
