I have a question about the hooker exhaust system....Im probablly going to get it soon... however, im worried that it might be a restriction ... i have a 3 inch downpipe... does the hooker system start out as a 3 inch pipe at the cat. before it Y's off ????.. i really dont know if i would want to put a reducer on my exhaust.... someone let me know if i should worry about this...:) :D

the hooker is 2 1/2. No reducer is needed, your going to need a 3' test pipe or cat, which then bolts up to the exhaust.

cool.. thanks for the reply ... i do have a 3 inch test pipe coming off the downpipe.....wont i need somekind of a reducer to get the 3 inch test pipe to fit onto the 2 1/2 inch hooker syster......sorry for such a silly question.... but i want to make sure before i buy anything.

The Hooker system will bolt right up to the 3" test pipe. Not to worry! No reducer is needed as the two pipes from the dual exhaust come together at the 4 bolt flange.

your 3" DP goes into two 2.5" pipes.....not really a restriction.....get a dump pipe if you want to make sure

Mine didn't bolt up, but I had a custom setup made. I took the test pipe that came with the Hooker system and had a local exhaust shop cut the flange off the hooker test pipe about 2" from the 4 bolt flange and weld it to a 3" pipe that went to the THDP. I then had them weld a 3 bolt flange to the THDP and the test pipe so that I could take it out for emissions testing. Then a month later they did away with emissions testing down here.

THANKS

i will get the hooker system soon....but.. the real question is.. do i get the exhaust or the alky system first.... hmmmmm.... i cant stand that 3 inch single shot much longer...... oh heck.... ill get them both .....:D

I was going to say if you had the stock exhaust, to replace that first. I don't know much about the single shot. Have you thought about putting a muffler in place of where the cat would be? I know several guys that have the dual muffler setup (aka hooker exhaust) and it was still too loud, so they put another muffler where the cat was.
