I did a complete front end rebuild on my Ttype this past weekend.......upper and lower control arm bushings, upper and lower balljoints, inner and outer tie rod ends, sleeves, center link, and idler arm. Its great! The car feels like new up front, well because it is! :) Anyhow, do I need to put a heat shield on my downpipe by that passenger/rear upper control arm bushing? Or should I not worry about it? I want this to last 60K or so. Thanks

i would. my car has new wheel bearings and it still groans on left turns. i can see the bushing you are talking about and mine is gone. all hard and flaky. IMO the heat shield is cheap insurance, install one, i will.

What was the total cost buy the time you were done, and what kind of bushings?
Thanks:Bill:cool:

I would like to know this too. How long did it take you? Did you buy the PST polygraphite kit ($359)? Did you need any special tools to do the job? I will be doing this next month and any info or details would be great.

Im in the process of rebuilding the front end of my car right now. All with stock replacement parts. Totall parts is around $220.00 for everything.

Hope that helps.
