Kinda small, but it is 4" thick which is way nice. Fun project for someone that is good with fabrication (for pipes and mounting brackets).

get the powerstroke IC. I got mine for 100somthing $ off ebay in perfect condition with presure test! I spent more on pipes then the actual intercooler.

According to this link: http://www.vortexbuicks-etc.com/ICtest.htm The Cotton FM is best, and I personally think the powerstroke IC is better. The PSIC in/outlets are in the middle of the intercooler, not just on the bottom=more efficent i think. And I have 3inch in/outlets. And the PSIC with all the pipes, installation stuff, was only 400$ with hoses and claimps too.

heres the PSIC part number

powerstroke pipe

where would you get the pipes for a powerstroke and are there any pics of the complete setup?

Im putting an installation together now, i had some pipes but need to see what fits, some guys use muffler pipe from NAPA.

Id like to see some testing and comparisons of cottons front mount and the powerstroke ic, also some real world times at the track of each one of these intercoolers. i know jack ran into the 8s with his but has anyone done that with a powerstroke ic?

I failed to mention that im getting my powerstroke ic necks modified so instead of the pipes coming through the radiator support , im getting them repositioned to come out from the sides so with a 90* silicone hose it should pipe through the headlight openings in the radiator support without having to cut it up.

Damn, is testing really necessary if someone runs 8s with an intercooler? The only factor would be cost because from a performance standpoint, 8s is probably faster than 99% of us will ever go. I'm interested to see how fast people have gone on straight pump gas with the various front mounts.

I know for a fact that Nick Micale ran 9.90s with a PowerStroke IC last weekend in Vegas. I would guess that's probably the fastest anyone has gone, not because it's not capable of going faster, just nobody's done it yet.

I have a powerstroke and put it next to the cottons. The cottons is thicker and just a tad larger. I think the the guys at ford could build a good cooler also. The ford engine runs a 88 size turbo stock I think so it can flow. Plus a 1 ton truck is not going to be moving 100mph so I bet the airflow is maximized for low speeds. There is a whole how to on this board or the other one that had napa part#'s for all mandrel bent pipes and hoses,do a search.

yea u seen the size of the grill for those ford trucks..Freaking huge! I run the PS as well...I installed mine with a becool radiator too  Awsome unit.

After a few WOT runs, i can light my cig off my downpipe, but i can GRAB AND HOLD ONTO the outlet for the PS intercooler, its almost ice cold. sweeeeet. :p

I may sell my Cotton's front mount that i bought this year for $1000.
Zero miles and has been installed and fits perfectly.

Cheeseburger

i am interested in the cotton's front mount when you are ready to sell......thanks Bob

I bought one from e-bay. It's the larger version though. I do have to make my own piping. I had to relocate the lower part of the radiator support and move the radiator back slightly to get it to fit in my car.
