New GN owner

Hey folks,
Just got a bone stock 86GN.
would it be wise to leave it alone or can add
some easy stuff like a chip?
Also what is with the gas octane please explain.
I can get Ultra 94 in southern NH.
Does it help to run that gas all the time?

Yup only run 94 myself, good stuff.

There are build up recipes over at gnttype.org for the car.

Start with upgraded fuel pump.
160 thermostat.

K+N filter kit.
Spring cleaning

Then worry about a nice 93 street chip and you will be one octane point higher to avoid detonation.
