well i havent gotten a GN yet, but hopefully soon i will, i have to sell my truck first. well its a S10 and i was wondering if i could transer the 18" rims i have on it to the GN??? they are 18x8's with 4.5" backspacing and 235/40/18 tires. also im looking into dropping the car a bit probably 2" spindles up front and 1.5" springs out back. how will that look too much rake??? also if i run the stock rims and tires will i need to mod the fenders any?? also i will probably be replacing all the front end bushings, and maybe the rears if its not too hard to do. what brand should i go wiht??? thanks a lot guys

By looking at the size of the rim and the back spacing it looks like it will fit. But droping it I would not know. Probally have to put the rims on and see the gap between the tire to the fender.

Please don't disgrace an GN with 18s. To each his own and all that but one of the things about owning a Buick is not defacing it too bad.

oh yeha that is true, i hadnt really thought about it too much. but i seen a few montes on 18's and i thought they looked good so i figured a Gn would too.

you would probably need a 1/4" spacer all around to get it just about right.

having a regal on rims with a big stereo is fine, just please dont do it with a GN or Turbo Regal. Leave that for the N/A cars. Unless of course you are trying to get it to corner like hell, then it would be ok, just don't do it for looks only. BTW you will never get nearly as good of straight line traction with 18's as you would get with a set of 15's or even 16's.

I don't know if I agree, and probably should just keep my mouth shut here as everyone has their own opinions. But I have 18x9.5" on the rear of mine and 17x8" up front and love them. The car isn't dropped, but I really do want to drop it about an inch to get rid of a little of the empty space in the wheel well (which I can't understand since the tires are the same overall size as stock). But mine fit pretty good (5" backspacing on rear, 4" up front). Worried about lowering the rear though because not sure if the slicks would fit then..... There are LOUSY pics of the car on my website (scanned polaroids since the digital camera broke).

Hey Taz your ride does look nice. I have just seen some pimpdaddy rides that look out of place. And your right to each his own. I'm just a little more purest when it comes to GNs. I thought about some 16 or 17 TTII myself. I guess it's a generation thing too.

It would really look sweet with some 13" reversed offset wheels on it all the way around!

Hey FTC. I have 2" lowering springs in the rear and 2" drop spindles up front with the factory rims. No spacers. My tires are 265/50/15 and 215/60/15. Looks good but I think next time, I would just go with 1"lowering springs all around. Put a stiffer shock (bilsteins etc.) with a stiffer spring. I wish I was more computer literate so I could post a shot of my car. It is presently on the "peeks" section for gnttype.org. (the one with the hood up.) Cheers!
