I have a brand new J.W. flex plate that I had balanced for a stock crank and stock balancer that was for a girdled 109 short block that I sold. So I am selling this and I paid $190.00 + shipping and then spent $40.00 to set up for external balance.
I would like $150.00 shipped

SFI Flex Plate ?

PSI,
just wondering if you have used the wheel since it was balanced for ext. and will the sfi cert. still be good after having been modified. or would it have to be re-cert.?
Thanks

I never used it and sold the short block it went with because I had a stock flexplate also and the guy did not need it for the street. As far as being certifed, the flex plate is three times the thickness of a stock one and they go off that, as far as I can see in the rule book. I think the only time you have to re-cert them is if you take material out of it for wight saving.

J. W. Flexplate

Talked to J.W. today and they confirmed that after modification ,certification is VOID. Also that plate thickness has nothing to do directly with the certification.
Also , certification is good for 3 years from date of mfg. on SFI tag.
.
They also said that normally they don't re-certify flexplates (most racers by new after cert. runs out).
But they would re-certify for $100 + shipping.
Thanks , just thought you might want this info.

Of course J.W. will always tell you to buy a NEW one

I dont see why it would cost $100.00 to re-certify for a new sticker
