I ran 10w-30 dino oil first start up and drive and then went to 5w-30 dino oil for 1000 mile break in but after warm up I am still idling with 30 psi and going down the road with 60-70 all day long. At about 300 miles now. Runs great and oil is still golden. I know its better to have more then less but is this too much and what viscosity does everyone recomend. I'm in houston where it gets hot but now we're heading in to winter where highs will be 70 to 80, vs. 105 in summer. Thinking of running 0-30 amsoil signature after break in. Has roller cam.

Doesn't sound like a problem. Run whatever weight your builder recommends but factory 10W-30 has always served me well.

Do you have a high volume oil pump? If so, it probably came with 3 different springs so you can change to a lower pressure spring.

30 psi hot idle is pretty good.

I don't think you will have a problem, but you could check the cam sensor gear for excessive wear. Once again, you probably won't have an issue.

I am wondering if you are using a high volume oil pump as well.

By chance do you know what your connecting rod side clearances came out to? If not, no big deal.

I'm fine with the high oil pressure as long as it doesn't hurt anything. I guess I'm just worried it's going to blow something out or break something. Only leak I had was two rear girdle studs which I removed sunday, coated with teflon and reinstalled. Waiting 3 days to cure before I start it this afternoon. Old build averaged 20 psi idle and 40 on road with 40k miles on it. Has high volume oil pump.

MINE TO ..30 AT HOT IDLE 60-70 AT HIGHWAY SPEED ..MODDED CAR ,HIGH VOLUME OIL PUMP . NO PROBLEMS !

Not a problem. My motor runs the same oil pressure....30psi hot idle...60psi cruising...with 10w-30 VR1, stock oil pump, 60lb spring, KB booster plate.
