New owner in san diego area!

Hey i just bought my 87 GN a couple of days ago and seeing how many other owners there are in the San diego area, and what you guys do down here. wondering if there was someone that could help hook up a boost gauge that i have and where to hook up the Knock gauge. Where are all the good junk yards around here? I Also work on my buddies 73 nova for him and i miss raping junk yards of there parts! Thanks

Yea, lots of strung out boost junkies down south. How's it run? Is there any cool stuff done to it, eg: titanium curb feelers, carbin fiber dingle balls, ceramic mufler bearings, etc ?

Yea she doesnt like WOT it surges and wont pull over 10lbs of boost. She pulls hard to 10 though. i think it has some thing to do with the boost controller not being hooked up!


or that i dont have ceramic mufler bearings yet, got those on order!!! what color are yours? they have a great deal on them in J.C. whitney, in fact thats where i get all my parts! i better quit joking around before people belive me and quit talking to me lol

Yeah, welcome. What part of SD are you in? I'm down in Imperial Beach. One little tidbit to get you started is don't drive it in boost without a way to monitor knock. Especially if it's not running right.

Im in the navy and dont have a place yet out in town so i live on base for now. (which makes me sleep good knowing the car is safe at night) Yea i spent about 5 hours reading threads yesterday and im keeping my foot out of it till i get a scanmaster!!! its got a knock gauge just need to hook it up! Are the swap meets out here any good? i was thinking about going to the one on sunday.

I do think we should all get together again. I MISS BOOST BAD. I just got blown away in My EL Co by a Subaru Wagon, Sound familliar turbo39151 because I know you have one, I didnt realize they were that fast on the top end.

yea i sure could use the help, I went to the Q with the car this weekend (didnt run it) and talked to another GN own that informed me i had a stock turbo and the likes. still having a problem on the top end not wanting to pull after 10 pounds of boost! it has a lot of pull on the bottom. i hooked my knock gauge up and sometimes it reads in the lower yellow lights and then it doesnt read at all sometimes? so i been playing it safe! Let me know if anybody has any ideas? i would also like to know why it runs really high idle when cold sometimes and doesnt idle right till after ive had it in gear for a while or i shut it off and turn it back on.
