New Scanmaster - works key on, but not engine running

Just installed a new scanmaster 2.1 in an 87. With key on, it works. When I start the engine, i see it display 2.1 for a second, then nothing. There is still power there. Any ideas?

Exactly where did you plug the data wire (white I believe) into???

Into the orange wire like it said at the ALDL port.
