I bought a new TA-49, and plan on installing it this winter. It came with a stock ported exhaust elbow. Would this be fine at this performance level, with one of those Poston 3" downpipes made to attach to the stock elbow, or should I get a DP that eliminates the elbow? Let me know what you think...

From the looks of the rest of your combo, you might benefit from a Houston style pipe.

I would definatly replace those 36lb injectors for some 50's or 60's too!

It's on the list. ;) I was affraid someone was going to say that about the stock ported elbow. Mo money, mo money.

Yes, I need to put it up for sale. Anyone have any idea how much it would be worth? It's been peened and painted. Came from Kirban Perf. that way.

do a search on parts for sale and see

Just one question, though. Why in the heck would I need 60# injectors for this mild setup? That doesn't make a lick of sense to me?? I think 55# injectors are high impedance, so that's why I mention the 60's. I was thinking 42's would be appropriate for this setup. Or are you saying 60's, which would leave room for growth?

I'll be picking up new injectors and a downpipe this winter, and getting the install done. Have to have the chip re-flashed again, but oh well. :D

IMO, there is no point to sell anything other than 60lbers to GN customers anymore. They idle like stock and they can go mid 10's with a hot wired pump and some pressure.

Whats the point to getting 42's that might not idle that great due to who's chip you get and then maybe running into a DC problem and needing to buy new ones later on?

The 60's are proven to be great idlers and performers like the 50's were without the lock up problem at high static fuel pressure.

While I agree with the comments regarding the 60-lb'ers I would also like to toss out there that a set of 42.5-lb'ers with a set of Red Armstrong's chips for both the street and track would be an asset to your combo. He has been doing them for that kinda setup for MANY years and they are a proven combonation. As for the original question I would say that you can only benefit from an aftermarket DP such as a Houston or the like.

Where can you get a inexpensize (not cheap) set of 60's? Anyone have a link?

Ditto on Full Throttle. You may want to wait for a special if you do not need them now. Mike usually has specials near Xmas. Check the vendor specials section.

6os

i ran sixtys with my stock turbo. car ran great. then i wanted more power. bought a new cpt 61 turbo. same injectors- no problems. this stuff (buick turbo power) is addictive, always wanting more. some items you can buy once and they will follow along with other upgrades like 60 lb inj. go 4 it. you won't be sorry. full throttle sold me the injectors and chip.

Was that the ball bearing version? How did the car run?
