Make sure you're using a new jug that's not been used for any prior fuel. Plastic fuel jug is fine. I use a 5gal one. Treat it as toxic poison (which it is) -- Don't get any on your skin and don't stick your face in the jug, like I did once w/ the lid off, and take a big whiff. Use gloves. Use a 1gal fuel jug to pour into the fuel cell/overflow tank.

Most drag strips sell it too. I can get it for $2.50-$3.00/gal at Byron. I think it is $3.50 at Great Lakes.

Rick87GN, do you have a problem with the alcohol drawing moisture, or do you reseal the drum? I recently began running alcohol and the local distributors only want to sale it in the drums. For smaller quantities I have to go to either Nashville or Louisville. I am trying to figure my best resource for alky.

Thanks,
Pat

alky

sealed container vp, torco, etc. 100% Speed shops sell a funnel that has a nice filter screen to keep trash and debris out. I think they run around $15.00. Like previously stated if you buy it at the track make sure they pump it from a dedicated pump not shared with the petroleum fuels due to cross contamination. Also your container needs to only be used for alky. Do not put fuel in it and then when it is empty you will still have residue so don't use it for alky then. Keep each container for each fuel only. I label the containers with a permanent marker. Hope this helps.

Nope, no problems. I do keep it sealed tight. Even if it did get some moisture, I don't think it would hurt anything. In the hot summner months it's good to run 20% water to get the boiling point up. You do have to turn up the spray a little but generally speaking, water does not hurt.

Sounds good, I think I'll be getting a drum in the future. There is a Sunoco distributor about a half hour away, that I contacted back in the winter, at that time their price was a little over $100/54 gallon drum. Guess that I'll be contacting them soon as Spring is lurking around the corner.

Forgot to mention when I was over the other day, if you ever need a new pump, we sell those at my work.

Give me a call this week if you get off early, I gotta show you the new turbo.;)
