Hey everyone, I'm new to this site and interested in purchasing an 83-86 GN or T-Type for my first car. I would like to learn as much as possible about them and make my car (when I get it) a nice sleeper. Is anyone here in the MD area? It would be pretty cool to go to the track or gatherings.

84-87 were the fuel injected/computer controlled cars. 84-85s are hotairs with no intercooler, smaller turbo, and restrictive exhaust and intake manifolds. 86-87 are about a second faster in stock trim and respond well to little mods and will go faster before replacing turbo/downpipe, and porting the intake manifold.

The hotairs are about $3,000 cheaper and I've had good luck modding mine. It took $200 to reach the stock times the later cars ran. This will be the first and only post recommending a hotair car lol. So I say start with an IC car if you have the money.
