HEy guys! I'm new to Turbo Buick's. I've spent my entire life messing around with Stangs. Well, now I have some left over money and I'm looking to get the GN I've always wanted. But I need some help. I keep seeing in descriptions WE4 and WH1. What do these mean? Any help you guys could give such as what to look for before purchasing would be great. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Tirefryr and welcome! For the most gn info you will ever find in one place (except here) try www.gnttype.org. A WE4 is actually sort of a cross between a turbo-t and a GN it has the all black exterior of the gn, but the interior is a grey t-type , no power sixes. and it has the aluminum t-type rims too. Buick built 1547 of these and proclamed them to be "lightweight GN's", but how light it is really depends on how its optioned.

Kirban Performance has a book on buying a turbo Regal.

Details everything you need to know and way more.

Worth buying or "borrowing" a copy. :)

Also on the gnttype website there is an article on tips for buying a Turbo Regal. I used it a couple years ago when I bought my GN. Also the "recipes" for running 12s, 11s, etc. are listed there for some background in case you buy a modded car.

I would recommend a mostly stock car with good mods like a fuel pump, adj fp regulator, K&N, dual exhaust, maybe injectors. Best advice I can offer is to get to know some TR people (car show or Buick event) and they could help you evaluate a car you are interested in. You'll be running solid 12s in a mostly stock car before you know it ;)
