Ive got a new 200 4r rebuilt by my self with ck parts and CKs help. I took these pressure readings before the test drive. The demon carb gets max tv at wot and the min readings are at its idle position(reading at 1000 rpm)

Park-110 min and 205 max
reverse-165 min and 195 max
neutral-110 min and 195 max
drive 4-110 min and 195 max
drive 3-110 min and 195 max
drive 2-240 min and 235 max
drive 1-235 min and 235 max

So I took the car for its first drive and it shifts well through 1,2,and 3rd gears with no pressure drop in any shift. It down shifts well when slowing down to a stop. I havent been able to put much time on it since I wont shift to 4th. I tried drive 3 and then shifting to Od and starting from a stop in Od and it doesnt shift from 3rd to 4th at any time. I have the tcc wired to a toggle sw with a negative ground 4th gear sw and when i cycled the sw it doesnt lock up. So I think that port isnt getting oil pressure. Would this be the 3-4 shift valve sticking? What else could I check? When I assembled the trans it air checked the OD clutch and worked well, both with the valve boy on and off. But when I air checked the govorner port I dont remember the 4th/OD working. It did test through the 4th exhaust port. Any Ideas or tips on what to look for when I remove the pan, valve body, 1/2 and 3/4 accumulators. Thanks Joe

Get the car up to 65 70 mph in d3 and let out of the gas and shift back and forth between d4 and d3 .See if it shifts.Loosen tv cable afterwards if it doesnt shift and see what happens. It is not uncommon for the 3/4 shift valve to stay put after a rebuild, dont know why but a road test doing what I said usulally unsticks it.

Chris at CK performance is the man! I went out and attempted the d3-d4 shift and it didn't respond. So I loosened the tv cable an that didn't seem to work so for giggles I tightened a couple clicks and that didn't work, then bam. At 55mph it hit 4th, lockked the tcc and dropped the rpm to 1500! Holy crap! I then reset the cable to max tv at wot and it road tested great. So far it's as expected.

Chris, is this thing ready for some track wot shift test-in d3 of course? Are these line pressures adequate or should I investigate them? Any thing else to look for or test? You're a hard man to get a hold of sometimes. Thanks, without your help I don't think it would have had the success I've recieved.

Pressures are ok but we have new boost valves that will raise the presure an additional 50 to 75 psi.

If I remember those valves go in the pump right? Would I benifit from the higher pressure with my calibration? Should I put some miles on it before any rallying? I've got my sights on another cutlass that needs a whoopin. Thanks
