I just like to save money and yes I'm a little for saving a bit of gas so we have some longer in this world. I drive my Buick but only once a week and a few miles at that so it doesn't impact me much. if it were my daily driver then you guys would have a point about me contradicting myself. Btw, 20 mpg, 25 mpg, even 30 mpg is sh**ty gas mileage. Cars need to become more advanced. In America we've been using roughly the same technology for 50 years or so. They need to bring those small diesel cars back like they have over in Europe. For example, not saying I would drive this car because its ugly and too small but the VW Lupo over there gets between 70 and 100 mpg on a little 1.2l diesel. That's more than enough power for our daily commutes to work. Then you can have something like our Buicks for those Sunday drives when you want to go fast. I love my Buick but I'll be honest and say that Europe has way better cars then we do and are way more efficient and less poluting. I just wish they had some of those cars that get over 50 mpg over here so I could buy one and save a ton of money on gas. But I guess if you think 20 mpg

is good you need to wake up and really see what some cars that we don't have available to us can do with gas mileage while still maintaining good power.
Here's another example, the best fuel efficient cars we have in America are the Prius (retarded), and the VW diesels. The Jetta, Golf, and Passat diesels get between 40 and 55 mpg. They just came out with their SUV Touraeg diesel that gets 30-40 mpg. And yes, I'm sure that Touraeg could pull your boats and cars just fine. Mercedes will be bringing back their diesels too and so will BMW and then we will finally have some cars that we can buy that get good gas mileage. The next step is for American automakers to first make better cars with better interiors (new Vette is sweet with the power but interior looks like sh**, felt like I was in a Cobalt), and then add their own diesels.
I think the most important market for fuel efficient vehicles right now is the small little compact cars like the Civic. They get a little over 30mpg but that's not enough considering you can get a car with a v6 that gets a little worse but roughly the same gas mileage. The little cars like Civics and Jettas should be mandatory with a diesel option that gets over 50. That would be great. Also, all trucks and SUVs should be diesel only and have to make at least 25 mpg in the city. The technology is out there to make fuel efficient, powerful vehicles (again look at Europe), but the car companies are just too lazy.
So, I suggest for your daily commutes get a car that gets at least 30 mpg and then save some money on an older truck that you can use to tow your Buick or boats or whatever that you don't have to use too often.
