Hey Guys,

Looking for some feed back. New engine build was originally built for TSM class. Car is now set for street duty. Engine: all forged internals, roller cam, ported alumin heads, ported intake, 83lbs injectors, etc. Watchdog is a old Fast Bank to Bank system. Still 231cu.in. Turbo considered @ time of build was a PT70GTQ. Trans: completely redone, including AC 9" NL 3800 convertor. Rear steel axles, HR anti-roll sway-bar, bilstien 50/50 shocks, new stock springs, new lower after market control arms, after market pinion snuber. If it make any different Block is a hi-nickel block. Now the turbo on this setup presently is a PT61, which I had before the build. I am looking for a turbo to get a 3600lbs car down to low 10,s and keeping boost levels no higher then 20 or 21lbs. Is this possible? And if so, what turbo?

pte71hpq or gtq billet wheel turbo will get you there but not at 20lbs of boost.guys w/6765,s going low 10,s w/28-32lbs boost.the guys who know are Patrick(RUQUIKNF) he works for PTE sales rep he sold me two turbos and was rite on the money.ever time with my goals.( BISON, CAL HARTLINE).these are the guys you want to talk to.

Is it a solid cam? If not it will not be easy to run low 10's at 20-21psi. Hi nickel blocks are not TSM legal. Only stock 3.8 blocks are. It will take an HPQ turbo and some rpm to get it done at 20-21psi. You will have a hard time getting the AC converter to couple up top if you are under 6400 rpm with the power needed to run low 10's/.

No, its not a solid cam. If I am understanding whats being said then I would need to raise my boost and possibly change to a different convertor? If so what boost level? And convertor?

A 70GTQ/HPQ @ 22-23 psi with a PTC 9.5" converter would get it done if all else was gtg. Then you should have solid very low 10 sec power. Cam timing a compression ratio can make a difference at that level. If your not doing the tuning yourself on the FAST send me a PM.
