turbo on my TTA needs replaced, is there any certain break-in time, or mileage for a new turbo before i give it all hell?
thanks in advance.

I have asked this question before and was told give it hell. I didn't and took it easy for a few hundred miles before even seeing 5 PSI.

There is no bearing/wear seat process like there is for a cam or crank bearings. The turbo shaft on a non-BB turbo is simply "Floating" in oil....so give it hell right out of the box it is got oil flowing to it...if it don't then you'll kill it either way.

After I installed mine the spool up was alot slower becaus of the biger turbo but know that the turbo has a few miles on it the spool up is faster.

Ya, when I bought my new turbo the wheels where harder to spin than my 49. So, I got to thinking and concluded that after a few good miles that the turbo should loosen up a bit. I havent heard of this, but it seems logical.

If the turbo is hard to spin when you get it, it is because they have assembled it with a lot of assembly lube. Limit Engineering uses a lot of this lube to help ensure that the first start up is not catastrophic. I am not sure about the other turbo builders though.
