Cool. What year? What power plant? How many miles? That thing looks like it was owned by an old grampa with tennis shoes. :D

kirban 2 cents worth

Good choice....I had 2 similar ones mine where the 2500HD models with the 494 gas motors great tow vehicles especially with the extended cab....no real issues except rust attacks the rotors and if yours is an HD truck they are big bucks to replace.

If you have the allison trans tow/haul mod set up even better for towing....I had a chevy 2001 and then a 2001 GMC towed so many turbo regals with the chevy the receiver had worn oblong! switched to a GMC when rust got to be an issue on the frame and rotors etc....

Great deals can be had on any of these trucks now.....my two where that same color as yours but not two ton also had the chrome rims. Ran Michlein tires got 50,000 miles out of them very quite tires also. Not cheap.

enjoy the ride...

Very nice. Love the "TOW/HAUL" mode on those trucks. Works great, have done many cross-country trips with a car trailer behind a similar truck. Congrats!

She is 1999 & A VORTEC 300hp motor. The tow haul feature is nice. I need a trailer. My nieghbor has a dolly that I can use.
Maybe I can now beat GRUMPY to all the broke down GN's in these parts.

Of course my car is jelous & the powermonster had issues today. Gee it is a little over 1 yr old & under 1k of driving. :( I should have gone vacuum.

It it hasn't had the flywheel replaced yet, start saving for it, now.

If you hear a tick at idle, its not the motor or and exhaust leak, its the flywheel.

Good choice of tires, 6.0, good suspension. Sounds like you have a good vehicle. Mom has the same drivetrain in a Yukon and she just passed 100k miles. Changed the fuelpump, plugs, and wires at 100k to prevent it from failing on the road and otherwise all it has needed is a waterpump.

Nice truck I have a gmc c3 with the 6.0 and I love it.... Wait till you do a few mods to them they really wake up.

Argh my truck just started ticking recently I taught it was the passenger side exhaust manifold. :frown: I havent really looked at it that well yet just havent had time... I hope that's not what it is though.

Good. Now I can get rid of my PU and borrow Derek's. :D
Get an enclosed car trailer and use that for a garage. Let Chris have the garage back. You can bury her van with your ebay stuff.

Mine was cracked 360 degrees and the only thing keeping the crankshaft from spinning freely was the jagged crack. I'm sure a few more miles pulling my trailer and it would have failed in the middle of nowhere.

I thought is was piston slap and was looking at replacement motors... turns out the motor was perfect.
