i have a hot air car that is completely stock with 170,00 miles. runs very strong. i was looking into intercoolers to reduce temps, and to get alittle gain in horsepower. i was told that an alcohol injection system would be better. i dont know anything about these systems. are they really better? more expensive? would i have to do any other modifcations? what are the best companies? how exactly does it work? thanks for the help.

I dont want to sound like a Razor whore, but hes a great guy with an excellent system so try here!

www.alkycontrol.com

There lots of info on alky theory and info on the kits there.

4sfed4.. no but this coming Sundays track event I may be your Daddy  .. hehehe

Nicky,
The kits for the hot air cars is more $$ becuase they need an additional solenoid, hoses, and solenoid driver. It is a great thing to do to the cars. As is converting the ecm/coilpack/MAF to the 86/87 setup so chips are more readily available.

tell me more about an ecm/coilpak and MAF swap to 86/87 set up. so it will except the alky set up for a hot air car, what else will that do for me?

A fella can always dream.

That would be you dreaming BTW :D

But, youll probably get lucky and wont have to face the 2.2L wrath of 4SFED4 once again as I wont be able to go to the event this Sunday.

But, I did take a quick spin in the car with the new PTE SC6152E and it rocks! Holy smokes does this car pull harder than it did with that TO4E 50 trim! Not even close.

So, youll be in trouble sooner or later...break out that telescope we were discussing last week. I believe there is 124-125 mph traps in the ole granny-mobile now.

Nickyt, You have some research to do on your hot air. There is a section of the board dedicated to such a vehicle. My knowledge is very limited on your particular application. Altho I can sell you a kit, your knowledge base has to increase in the area of tuning your particular car. The swapping of the 86/87 parts is done to make your tuning easier. I can talk alky with you all day long, but "HOT AIRS" is not my forte.

One issue is octane, another is tuning. Get your tuning knowledge/adjustability up.. then we'll talk the rest.

Cool :)

4sfed4... hehehehe.. dont worry.. remember the fender :)
