I will be getting my first nos kit this week for my car , is there any thing i should know about it, will i need to get a new chip , hotter or cooler plugs, and what to do with fuel press, do i just run it a little rich to make up for the nos. The chip that i run now is jl 93 and the timing is 19* i think.

Thanks guys for any help.:D

I think you can come see me for a rebuild when you blow it up:D Is that trans and brake up and running yet? Drop me a line!

Iam going to start to build the new motor 3.8 or 4.1 in the winter steel caps and all the goodies. Iam going to run it at the end of the year when i start to build the new motor so i dont blow it up to soon. :D Still waiting to pipe in my new intercooler . Idid put it in gear and drove about 10ft with it.:)

CONGRATS

Congradulations on you new system i would suggest running a little colder plug have someone burn you a new chip slap on a fuel pressure gauge to watch the pressure and turn down your boost about 2-3 pounds from what you normally run plus what i think is the key is killer gas no cheap stuff...oh i almost forgot throw on a diaper because your in for ride. plus have more faith in you motor she will handle it and i have been running the bottle for many years well over 100,000 miles.if you have any question you should get with wilkinshc.. he's the mad scientist on my car plus he know his stuff when it comes to the bottle...good luck and have fun:D

Hey BOTLFED, are you going to make it to the Muscle Car Shootout this September in Pueblo? I met you there last year but you didn't bring your car. :(
I want to see that 7 nozzel  V6 go down the track.

CrazyGN: if you haven't upgraded your fuel pump do it first. Also get a scan tool before spraying to play it safe.

My new set up is at the bottom, i have a 307 pump and i was thinking of going a little bigger. I wont run it hard with out a scan tool , iam getting ready to buy the new 3.0 turbo link.:)

thanks guys

BOTLFED what kind of shot are you running, i was thinking of a 50-75 shot.

Use a 50 shot first. You may find that that is all you need. :D

YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!!!

I will be going to pueblo for sure this year, we tried super hard all the way up to that very night last year to get some new injectors tuned in. but had no luck:( but that is all fixed now plus we shaved another 100 pounds off the front end and some more off the rear. we might try to mini tub this thing because traction is a real big issue right now my 28x10.5 et drags feel like radials so thats a big issue we are going to try and weigh in the car and hope to be around 2800 pounds;) but i should be good to go it was killing me to just sit back and watch last year but hey i still had a good time just bought a new 2002 dually and should have my new trailer by then, i hope. as far as the shot of the line ( and all the way down the track) i very from 75 shot or 100 i really have never used a 50 shot the doghouse is cappable of squirting up to 500 but i think i will pass on that shot and leave it at about 125. so ther is one nozzle in the uppipe and 6 others plumped into the hat let me have your email address and i will shoot you some pics of some test runs we did and i think you might aggree on the traction problem well have fun with the new system and XLR8 is right you should try to upgrade your fuel system....

CrazyGn,

If your running race gas 19 on the timing is good, like the others said adjust the boost down 2-3 lbs for a 75hp shot and 1-2 lbs for the 50hp shot, run 1 colder on the plugs, have a fuel pressure gage or a fuel pressure switch to shut the nitrous off if your fuel pump doesn't keep up. Leave the fuel pressure where you normally run it don't adjust it up for the nitrous. I have seen a few run the nitrous on a 307 with no problems but I would recommend a 340 pump. Also if your brought a new system from NOS the jets are really rich already. You usually have to go down 1-2 jets sizes on the gas to get it where it should really be. Can't remember the size off the top of my head but I will check and post later. On a stock GN with a 75hp shot you should pickup a full second, with good traction up to second and half. I have had 4 GN and with all stock except chip, fuel pump, wheels and tires, all have ran 12.2-12.4.

HE'S ALIVE

The mad scientist lives....i thought you would give this guy a hand are you going to go to pueblo again this year? you can ride with us if so...but this time no laughing when we start to go up that hill again;)

Whats the date for Pueblo? I don't think you'll have to worry about the hill with the new truck unless you plan on using the ricer to pull it, then you might not make the hill at all. :D

Depending on the date I might just tow mine up with the suburban. Finally got the bottle mount and line run just have to wire it in and check the jet sizes. Also took some zip strip to the Gn wheels, you have to check them out.

CAREFULL

Don't put your jets in backwards you might turn that thing into a powerstroke.....i wouldn't know just guessing;)

A 340 pump should be fine. I had a pump die (blown fuse) but it died slow, I couldn't understand why it the 0-2's went lean for a couple days before. the fuse blew...

If you are serious about notrous, get a guage that you can tape to the windshield to check for good, high, sustained fuel delivery. Postons, $50...:)

Iam going to change to the 340 pump soon and probley give the 307 to my little brother. Fuel gauge and 3.0 turbolink is next, nos kit should be here in the mail any day now.

What kind of boost do you guys run with a 50-75 shot. I was hoping to go 11's with my new set up at the bottom but iam sure with a 50-75 shot it will do it and a little more i hope.

thanks guys

If you run a 50hp shot I would back off the boost by 2lbs. One colder on the plugs, and adjust timing back 2 degrees. If you are run 12.6's with the current setup and make adjustments mention above you should see about a 1/2 second increase. Be sure to monitor knock and adjust timing accordingly.

That time is with my old set up , ta33 , 40lb injectors and stock intake and trans that sliped , and no scan tool. that old set up had much more. I hope for mid to high 11's with what is at the bottom with out the nos.

I will stay in touch with you guys for sure, and do any thing you tell me to do.:)
