I say, don't buy it unless you can see it! I have a pretty amusing story... well not amusing to me (b/c im in it). Bought a car unseen from a former board member who seemed to know his stuff as he was a frequent poster. The car supposedly ran perfect, needed nothing, and did a best of 11.45 @ 118. Spoke with him frequently via phone and e-mail (seemed like a very nice/honest fellow) and even had another board member check out the car for me. The day it arrived at the matson port, I handed the worker my papers, and they went outside to retrieve the car. The worker comes back in and says "there is no burgundy regal, are you sure it's burgundy?" I was like

!! I then went outside to look for it, and found it. It was so badly covered in filth that the car actually looked brown! I had to go to wipe down the windshield so that I could see out of it! Oh well, I figure, atleast im getting a perfect running car. I drive out of Matson, no more than 20 feet out of the facility, pop pop pop, bang, car is dead. Had to call a friend to pick me up and have it towed to my house. I'll get to the point, the wiring harness looked like a rats nest, the oil looked like it had NEVER been changed, the transmission fluid (supposedly BRAND NEW RACE BUILT TRANSMISSION) was black, boost was set at 28 psi (didn't know till later, boost gauge was broken, along with the speedometer, fuel guage, radio, a/c, tail lights, turn signals (primer all over the fricken firewall!!!!) etc. After about 2 months (and LOTS of time and $$$) we got the car running, took it to the track, and ran a 14.7 @95mph. The car shifted at 3k rpms, and only reached boost in OD (yes, I hit OD BEFORE the 1/8th mark!) Come to find out, there's a non-HO monte carlo vb/governor in the car, AND the 1-2 clutch gear band is toast. I'm still saving for a new transmission, and I have not fixed any of the electrical problems yet, but I have spent about 13k on buying the car +shipping + parts, to have a big hunk of metal sitting in my driveway without any money left over to get it running. Learned my lesson, I will never buy a car from the internet again, hope this never happens to anyone else... Oh yeah, I e-mailed the previous owner with a list of problems on his "perfect running" vehicle, his response "If that's how you feel, F*CK you!"
