The cheapest I could find 555R's (275's) was at discounttire.com.
$154 a piece with free shipping.
You can beat that John??

tires

I've checked on the BFG. I was told to run 235/60/15 on the back. What size Nittos are you guys running on the back? ( I have the stock rims)
Thanks

Any news on the avalibility of the new, bigger Nittos?

I think they were 275 60 15's?

Nitto tires

hey john i need some tire for my GN too... how much can you get me some nittos for? maybe if enough people are interested we can get a group buy going?

You guys missed out on the Nitto, BFG drag radial and slick Group Purchase. :(

Will I do another? I'm not so sure yet as I've already got people complaining when they've been told from the start (and understand how a GP works) that it will take a while to get this many tires at once. I can't blame the other vendors for not wanting to do GP's because it causes too many headaches and people get anxious waiting for product. So...what to do? It's up to you folks.

That is a good price and that is actually my distirbutor ...so when you guys call them and they have NO tires you'll know why. LOL
I can beat them but why? There is not much mark-up on wheels and tires and you guys want me to take a loss? NO THANKS - I will MATCH the price if you want them @ $154.00 SHIPPED. As I mentioned, they are on WAAAAY backorder because of me and my GP. Sure, they might have some in their Nevada facility but as frugal as most people are they aren't going to want to pay the extra shipping.
I APOLOGIZE FOR STEAMING HERE SOME BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE WHEN YOU TRY TO HELP PEOPLE OUT AND THEN THEY TRY TO BITE YOU IN THE BEHIND.

the 235 is too small. I'm running 275/50/15 on the stock rims

Yes, 275/50-15 will fit a stock wheel. The stock wheel is 15x7 but the overall width, including the lip, is 15x8. I've heard some people have fitment issues or slight runbing when turning a corner but nothing MAJOR. The 15x7 will tend to "bow" the tire sidewall out more and this is where it comes into play.

Again, my vendor is THE BIGGEST vendor for Nitto tire and I'm in contact with them weekly and they still expect it to reach THEM by late summer (read: August or September). If you want a taller tire that is STICKY there are a few viable options out there and YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO CALL ME FOR ADVICE.

I'm running the BFG drag radials now, and i'm not to happy with them. I've got the 235/60/15's. With stock size, generic radials, my car ran 2.0 60 ft times. That was when the car was completely stock. After a few minor bolt ons--exhaust/chip/cold air kit etc. I went to the track with the BFG's and proceded to get some 2.1 60 ft's. Granted, I was trying to leave the line with boost, but it was only 2 lbs.
I know the 235's are small, but my buddy bought some of the 275's for his and he had to get spacers for it. I guess it's not a big deal, but it also seems like there is a lot of tire hanging over the rim with the 275's. Started looking up the Nitto's today, and found that the only size I could really run would be the 275's. Are they the same width as the BFG's?

Nitto

svtnos - I've got 275/50-15's in stock right now. Other sizes I can have in a 1 day...if you're in a hurry. :)

tim-dog - LOL...yea, had some the other night, not sure what ass tastes like (well, Tanya's ass tastes like chicken...but that's another story) but my steak tasted REAL good. (marinated in honey BBQ sauce - wooohooo, Whit would be proud!).

Chromemirror - the 275/50-15 BFG has a tread of 10.0 in., a width (section) of 11.3 in., and a height of 26.1 inches.
-> the Nitto has tread of, I believe, 9.7 or .8 in., a width (section) of 11.18 inches and an overall height of 25.75 inches. HTH...and please feel free to ask any other questions. :)

Chromemirrors Most guys run 275-60-15's since they are almost 28 inches high and are less sectional width then the 275 50's.

Most people find out that they can run better 60 FT times and better Quarter mile times(in a turbo buick that is).

Some cars can get away with them with no spacers and some need them so they don't rub on the frame rails. It seams that the spacing on these cars was kinda hit or miss and also some found out that the body bushings were bad causing them to have more space on one side then the other.

But once again it is hit or miss on the others.

Just something to think about
