Before i pulled my motor to do a rebuild i would not have 1st gear at times when the shifter was in drive but if i would pull it down to manual 1st it would have 1st gear.I understand this could be possible due too the trans-go shift kit that was installed. After couple months go by engine was put back in and i totally lost 1st gear all other gears good.I pulled trans and diassembled and reclutched and new seals and installed new seperator plate and pts shift kit and purple super servo and adj. pin.I did notice 1-2 shift valve not absolutely smooth but wouldn't think it would stick.Installed trans no 1st gear with shifter manual or drive position. All other shifts good and firm.I do not want to pay 400 and up for a new valve body if thats not the problem. What else would cause a no 1st gear?
Thanks

Assuming you have the correct governor in the trans the only thing I can think of is a stuck 1-2 shift valve.

Line is over 90 psi at minimum TV. Back off the TV cable one click at a time till it stops 2nd starts. Should take one or two clicks. Its starting in second. Probably worse when hot or after a long highway cruise. You need to get the line down to sub 90psi. Id put a gauge on it to verify my thoughts. It could answer other questions to. Im assuming the band clearance is good and the exhaust hole is not covered by the pan gasket on the driver side. Could be a boost valve issue also.

haven't had time to look at it untill this weekend.I found that my cable became out of adjustment and would not alow manual 1st.Its an aftermarket shifter and cable.I adjusted back to proper dimentions.Manual 1st gear is good.
However i still do not get 1st gear with shifter in the D position.Any input?
I'll have to get a guage on the trans to verify psi readings.
