"Lock is pick and drill resistant"

During college, I repossessed cars part time for beverage money. We used to take devices like the club that advertised they were "pick resistant" and we would hang them on the lot fence where the "clients" would walk by. We got a laugh out of it. People used those alot thinking it would stop us from getting their cars.

That product is a good concept but it would not keep you from getting the car. It would however stop or slow down a less prepared thief.

That thing looks wimpy. With $10 I could steal that car.

$5 for a cheap used spare tire
$5 for a lug wrench.

 I guess it does prevent a quick steal though.

The good ones at least cover the lugnuts. I read where most can be broke in less than 30 sec with a dremel tool though. The beefier ones have metal plates welded over the weak joints though, so I bet they would be tough to steal. I considered getting one myself instead of a car alarm, all I have now is a steadfast collar. Need something in case I am out of town for an extended period.

remember that repo show that was on tlc? i remember one lady who came out after her car had gotten the boot... and she managed to drive away with the car, ripping up the quarter panel just like homer in the episode where they went to nyc! classic.

oh, and they also showed plenty of times when the repo men just dragged the cars out of a driveway or something screeching the tires to get them turned around for hookup (fwd cars parked facing a house forward in a driveway or something)

It looks retarded just sticking off of your car like that, I think people would see it and want to mess with it and what have you.

"Pick-resistant" yeah right! One of those came into my shop last month; I had it picked open in less time than it's taking to post this.
