I don't know if this would matter or not, because I'm not familiar with the M.T.V. upshift valve's role, but the Art Carr kit has you discarding the M.T.V. Upshift valve spring altogether.

Would that cause a problem? I'm kind of inclined to think no. The M.T.V. should be a part throttle area right? My part throttle is great now...

I have the valve body off now checking the 1-2 circuit and I'm going to try the coil cut as you suggested jake.

Ok, got the 1-2 circuit out, and back together. I found that the Low Range valve seemed to be sticking in the bushing, so I swapped it with an identical one that moved freely. I also cut one coil out of the 1-2 spring.

Now, it seems to shift WOT just fine.

But... we're back to no 1st gear starts. What could I have done here? The gauge reads about 105 at idle in park. Which is where it has been. I know you guys have said that it should be under 95, but it was working just fine at 105.

I pulled the VB back out, and re-checked the 1-2 circuit, installed a softer full length spring from another VB. 1-2 WOT will shift still, but something is definitely binding up in there.

If I pull it into manual 1, and accelerate then put it in 2, sometimes it shifts soft, sometimes hard, but ALWAYS late. Both bushings acted up going in. I checked them for burrs and lightly hit them with 400 grit to take any high spots off. They still have to be sticking quite a bit.

I'm just about ready to make a boat anchor out of this trans.
