No MAL Mode on scanmaster

I bought a car and it have a scanmaster on it but there is no MAL function mode on the screen. it was SP and something else

When there are no codes stored in the ECM MAL will not show. If one pops up they will be there

The high speed data modes don't show MAL on the scanmaster.

You can still blink the codes out using the 'paper clip method'. Or you can swap to a stock chip without resetting the codes and they will show up then.

So if I unplug the Maf sensor that will cause a code then it will appear on the scanmaster ?

Scanmaster 2.3, powerlogger and TT6.0 chip. Mine shows nal -

with a powerlogger, you get the troublecodes. Its the high speed datastreams that don't use the powerlogger that dont.

I just check my box and it said This box has been Modified, is that the reason why its not showing MAL. the car is not running well and burn my eye when its is running for a bit

a modified ecm doesn't affect the datastream.

give us the list of mods to the car, the type of chip, and all the scanmaster readings at idle.

lenny turbotweak does a fast update chip , that update is a modified aldl output stream and that stream of data includes PL(pulse width) and spk (spark timing) but it gives up MAL so you cant see malfunction codes

if the check engine light is on there are codes , use a paper clip on the aldl and retreive them

if the ecm is modded it has been modded on the injector drivers for low ohm injectors like the old 55/72/83s


too rich at tails
make sure the chip is burned for the injectors you're running
check the fuel pressure and the vac line to it
you may have a stuck injector , a bad plug or plug wire(s) , bad coilpak/module, bad maf , bad O2 on a closed loop idle chip, bad or unplugged ecm coolant temp sensor , bad tps

what numbers are you getting from the scanmaster at idle

I'll will look into the reading when I get home and report back ,the car has a 7th injector ,I'll check the Fuel pressure too.

what numbers are you getting from the scanmaster at idle

I was told the car have 55lb injectors, it doesnt look like TT chip, it have a smiley face on it.I'll check for vacuum leak ,thx Paul
