My local Sunoco just went out of business and now no one sells 100 octane now. What is a realistic rating for 93 octane using Alky??? Does it make the car more difficult to tune??? Always used higher octane mix for street and straight race for the track. I appreciate any help you can provide.

Fastest 109 block car at full wieght is 9.6 at 143 on 93 plus the injection. Your looking at over 800 to the tire at that performance level.

I dont think he can run those times on 100 octane.

Your octane is proportional to the amount injected and fuel that is displaced. meaning if you spray .1 ounce per second you dont get the same octane benefit as if you sprayed 1 ounce per second. The tuning is easy if you have a matching chip to compliment your setup. By now, the chips and alky systems are sync'd up so well there is very little fiddling to get the cars dialed in.

Most you will find install the kits and chip and never mess with them.

Alky injection is the BEST innovation for these cars since my first TR back in 1992. Get a TT wideband chip, Razors Alky kit, set your initial tune and call it a day.

Tuning is tuning no matter what your running, race, pump, or alky + pump. You need to dial your combo in for each of these scenarios. One is not more difficult than the other. With the addition of a Powerlogger you have everything you need to keep your headgaskets in place and make the most power at a safe level.

Call Julio and talk to him if you have any questions. Very knowledgeable. He has blown many headgaskets in his R&D so that we wouldnt have to. ;) He knows what works.

Got really good with a TQ wrench  There's an old saying.. you need to break a few eggs to make an omelete :D

Nice when the learning curve is over with and things are smooth sailing ;)

So is ALKY considered as good as race fuel into the 9's??? I have heard positive things about street use but was never thinking ALKY to be the equivalent to race fuel at those kinds of performance levels.

Well if it can propel a Buick into the 9's then you have an answer.
