No oil pressure at startup after sitting overnight.

Is it possible you can temporary bypass the huge oil cooler and set it as original to see if the oil pressure is there at start up?
Many controversy on the per-lube oil system, but I do enjoy mine, after no start for 6 month still have 50# oil pressure inside the per-lube oil system accumulator tank.
As I mention before, to each it's own

there is a slight drip from where one of the hoses goes into the oil cooler. Think it's letting air in? And I must say that is the one part that is perplexing, is that I hear no noise at startup. Is there anyway to have oil pressure before the sending unit sees it? Never thought to watch idiot light. Car has sat for almost two weeks now, so I'll find out today, lol.

If the idiot light goes out before the gauge moves, you most likely have a gauge that sticks after it sits.

Try this before you start it this time... Give the gauge a few sharp raps upside the head. On the odd chance it's sticky that might crack it loose before cold firing.

I doubt that drip could do it. Since it's a drip on a pressure line I can't imagine it'd be enough to flow just from gravity.

The gauge is from 1991, but like I said it jumps instantly with no delay at all on subsequent starts which makes it seem like a real oil pressure problem, or drainback problem. There is no seal in the pump that can cause oil pressure bleed down, right? Replacing the pump wouldn't help?

You never said If your filter has air in it when you change it. If so, you're getting air from somewhere.

Replacing the pump won't help. They're just two dumb gears, they have no idea how long it's been since they pumped last.

How can I tell? Oil comes out when I unscrew it, but doesn't seem like much and when I put a new filter on and start it the delay is the same as if it sat over night.

Evaddave 87gn Just what do you dislike about what I posted? If I'm a fucking idiot how about correction what I posted.

Whoa....not sure what this is all about here...or how I got in on this....

I don't disagree with your post. New gears are not going to solve the problem.

Looks like I clicked the disagree at some point.....this was not intentional....probably in a drunken stupor.... LOL
